Help sympathy or empathy which is correct? - quotes from a book on sympathy

A writer in a book he wrote in the summer and confusion, because I read that

Sympathy is - if someone feels bad about
Empathy is - if someone feels bad about, because you have been in the skin

Am I correct in these two men?

You can, both in this case, but they mean different things. Empathy is not always a bad thing or compassion for someone, while the sympathy. You can be empathetic to someone, that how they feel, but not always a case of feeling unwell.

When I said that the boy was with empathy for the workers, that is, he knows how they feel.

If you say that the child has a fondness for fast-food company that you would feel sorry for them. This seems less likely that the first option, since often a person would not continue if he felt pity for the perpetrators.

So I am inclined to the use of empathy, as his counterpart in special sympathy.
